SARSAT Test Receiver

The SARSAT Test Receiver is a specialized test instrument for use in the development and evaluation of beacon reception technologies. The Test Receiver accepts RF and baseband frequency inputs consisting of Doppler shifted beacon signals corrupted by both narrowband and wideband noise. It analyzes the received signal to detect the presence of valid beacon signals and performs parameter measurements and data recovery functions on validated signals. The receiver is intended to operate in conjunction with the SARSAT BSSG to evaluate existing and future data modulation and location estimation technologies.
