The owner of the Fishing Vessel Paul Revere manually activated his 406 MHz EPIRB when his fishing vessel became disabled and began taking on water. Coast Guard District 13 launched a helicopter from Air Station Port Angeles and a small boat from Coast Guard Station Quillayute River. In addition District 13 asked for air assistance from the Canadian Rescue Coordination Center in Victoria, British Columbia. The Canadians diverted one aircraft to the scene. The crew of the Canadian aircraft located and dropped pumps to the disabled fishing vessel.isabled vessel. The vessels crew was able to control the flooding. They were towed safely into port by the Coast Guard small boat.

The Air Force Rescue Coordination Center notified the Montana Department of Aviation which searched for the aircraft and recovered the pilot in good condition.

Elizabeth City, North Carolina
The crew of the Sailing Vessel Winds-or-Knot activated their PLB during rough seas and high winds. The vessel suffered a large gash in its side and began taking on water. Coast Guard Lantarea Rescue Coordination Center launched a helicopter to the scene. The crew of the helicopter hoisted the three people from the disabled vessel into the helicopter and transported them to Bermuda.

Plana Cay, Bahamas
An EPIRB was activated when the vessel caught fire. Coast Guard District 7 received the SARSAT alert and launched a helicopter from Air Station Clearwater. The helicopter arrived on scene and found the vessel on fire and located the single crewmember on a nearby uninhabited island. The man was hoisted aboard the helicopter and transported to Provodenciales.

A distress beacon automatically activated when the 35 foot catamaran hit a squall and capsized. Coast Guard District 7 launched a Clearwater Air Station fixed wing aircraft to the scene. The crew of the aircraft located the vessel with two persons clinging to the hull. Air Station Clearwater launched a helicopter to the scene.. The crew of the helicopter hoisted the two people aboard the helicopter and transported them to a hospital in the lower Florida Keys.

Red Hill, New Mexiico
The FAA had notified the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center that a plane had engine trouble and had deployed the aircraft parachute. The Air Force launched both a fixed wing aircraft and a helicopter based on the SARSAT alert data. The crew of the helicopter located the downed aircraft and the pilot. The helicopter crew transported the pilot to the Albuquerque International airport.

Anaktuvuk Pass, Alaska
Two hunters activated their PLB when they became lost, disoriented and low on fuel. The North Slope Borough launched a two man ground team from the Anaktuvuk Volunteer Search and Rescue organization. The hunters were located and all four returned to base safe.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department was looking for an ELT when they discovered a plane crash with one deceased. However they also noted foot prints leading away from the wreckage. The Sheriff’s department received help from a Naval Air Station helicopter to search for the missing person. The crew of the helicopter located her and transported her to the Renown Medical Center.

The operator of a 45 foot sport fisher activated his EPIRB when his battery became dead. Coast Guard District 7 launched a helicopter from Air Station Clearwater. The crew of the helicopter located the disabled vessel and lowered a radio. The helicopter crew contacted a nearby vessel the M/V Right Stuff, who agreed to tow the disabled vessel to Madeira Beach.

Coast Guard District 7 launched a helicopter to the scene. The Fishing Vessel Aqua Mist had sunk and the crew were in a life raft. The helicopter hoisted the three persons on board and transported them to a Coast Guard Station Canaveral small boat which transported the them to local EMS facilities.

The crew of the Fishing Vessel Midnight Fish II activated their EPIRB when the vessel became disabled and adrift due to a broken shaft and a detached propeller. Coast Guard District 7 launched a helicopter from Air Station Clearwater. The crew of the helicopter located the disabled vessel and hoisted the two people from the disabled vessel on board the helicopter and transported them to Air Station Clearwater. Two SARSAT Rescues.

A traveler going from Barrow to Wainwright on a snow machine became lost and disoriented and activated his PLB. A two man Wainwright Volunteer ground search team was dispatched. The traveler was locater tired, cold, low on fuel and going in the wrong direction. The traveler was transported by helicopter to Wainwright.

The operator of the Sailing Vessel Dancing Bear Cardiff activated his distress beacon due to an injury aboard the vessel. Coast Guard District Seven received the alert and launched a helicopter to the scene. The helicopter transported the injured 72 year old male to Doctors Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas.
